About

The Undergraduate Business Council (UBC) is a representative student organization for undergraduates at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Founded in February of 1959, it initially served as a link to enhance the relationship between BBAs, the faculty, and the administration. The organizations within The College of Business Administration soon merged with the class representatives and at-large representatives of the UBC to form the organization familiar to students today.

Since that time, the UBC’s responsibilities in undergraduate education have expanded and taken on the additional role of student governance. In the past, the UBC limited its role by providing only professional and academic programs for students to attend. Today, we continue that trend and additionally, we vocalize and advocate undergraduate business student issues to the administration.

Our current hallmark programs include Parent’s Day and the VIP Lecture Series (Views, Insights, and Perspectives). We also continue to reinvent ourselves with new programs. This year we have organized Green Means Go, a 5k run to raise funds to help reduce the McCombs School’s carbon footprint.

Through our programs and activities, the Undergraduate Business Council is dedicated to creating a better environment for all BBAs as they work toward graduation.
